Note: Dates for mid-winter break vary depending on the school your child attends. Typically, break ranges from the Friday before President’s Day, which takes place on Feb. 17, to certain days of the week of President’s Day.
Places to visit
Visit the Anton Art Center
Stop by this local art center to view the Michigan Annual XLVII exhibit, which is on display until Feb. 20 and features a historical exhibit with the Emerald Theatre in the Boll History Gallery. The Anton Art Center is open 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday. Admission is free.
Open play at Detroit Kid City
This Clinton Township spot offers imaginative fun for kids of all ages. Stop by for open play 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Saturday. Admission is $10. Be sure to call ahead to ensure there are no private parties during your scheduled outing.
Indoor play at Jungle Java
Kids can blow off some steam at this jungle-themed indoor play spot in Clinton Township, which is open daily – 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $10 for kids ages 2-plus, $4 for ages 12-23 months and free for adults and kiddos under 12 months.
Indoor play at Extreme Fun
Located in Macomb Mall in Roseville, this indoor play center boasts 30,000 square feet of fun – including bounce houses, moonwalks, video games and more. Stop by 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday to get those wiggles on during mid-winter break. Admission is $7-$10.
