Hot pot, deep-fried calzones, Lebanese mezza, and more things to try this month

Welcome to the Eater Detroit Heatmap, which invites diners to experience something new across the city's 143-square-miles. The heatmap pinpoints the most popular openings of the last six months as well as restaurants that have undergone exciting overhauls. (If you’re interested in a more tried-and-tested collection of restaurants, please see the Eater 38.)

This month, we’re saying farewell to Magnet, Pietrzyk Pierogi, Smith & Co., Pink Flamingo To-Go, which is closed temporarily while it repairs damage from a recent break-in. In their place, welcome Jose’s Tacos in Eastern Market, Al Tayeb Dearborn, the Ferndale Project beer hall, and vegan favorite Street Beet to the map. Without further adieu, here are all of the hottest restaurants in Detroit right now.

Did we overlook your favorite new spot? Drop us a note at the tipline and we’ll check it out. Want to know about even more new restaurants? Take a look at a big list of all of the latest openings here. And for all the up-to-the-minute Detroit dining intel, subscribe to Eater Detroit’s newsletter.
