A fancy hotel from the company behind the Detroit Foundation Hotel is opening to Birmingham early next year and bringing a swanky new restaurant with it called Madam. The Aparium Hotel Group plans to debut the Daxton Hotel in Birmingham along Woodward Avenue in February 2021.

The restaurant will serve what the release describes as “enlightened American fare, with an ever evolving menu focusing on seasonality and the freshness emblematic of California cuisine.” Madam will seat roughly 71 people in a space with high-ceiling, lots of plants, and three-toned wood floors. The establishment will be headed by former New York-based chef Garrison Price, who worked as a lead chef at il Buco Alimentari e Vineria in New York for three years and also acted as culinary director for Jean-Georges Vongerichten.

As for the 151-room hotel, Aprium promises it will be equally posh with “minimalist-luxe design with close to 400 pieces of cutting-edge art curated by world-renowned Saatchi Art” including selections from local floral muralist Ouizi. The hotel is already booking reservations.
