Oh, Daddy: Top 12 Celebrity Pops That Rock Our World

While your husband is snoring on the couch with Undercover Boss blaring on the TV in the background as you sort your ninth load of laundry for the day, you can’t help but think, “Man, if only I had my dream guy, (insert name here), to help me and pay attention to me.”

Though everyone’s preferences are subjective, here are a few of our top famous fathers that make us dream and fantasize about what they would be like as our husbands.

1. David Beckham

A classic soccer dad (literally), Beckham is a super sexy husband and father. He was People Magazine’s sexiest man alive in 2015, after all, and is still incredibly humble. He loves being a dad and has noted it many times on talk shows, Twitter and Instagram.

“My greatest achievement is my family. What matters is being a good father and a good husband – just being connected to family as much as possible. I was selfish before, everyone is. But when you have kids they become your main priority… making sure they are OK, making sure they are healthy, happy,” Beckham said in an interview in 2011.

Posh Spice certainly scored the saffron of husbands and fathers. We’re jealous.

2. Hugh Jackman

Jackman is one of the most versatile actors to date. From his work in Les Miserables to reprising the role of Wolverine nine times, it’s easy for most women to call him a crush.

Not only does Jackman appeal as an actor, but he also is an incredible father. He was at a beach in March of 2016 in Australia  with his kids when the tides changed suddenly and waves were very high. Jackman jumped in to rescue his own children – as well as a few other people. Many people viewed him as a real-life hero after the potentially fatal incident.

I think it’s safe to say that any man who risks his own life to save his children as well as others’ is a good dad. Mix that with his down-to-earth personality and his looks and we’ve got a winner.

3. Jimmy Kimmel

When Kimmel’s wife gave birth to a baby boy that had a dangerous heart defect, his monologue for the following episode of his show, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, was extremely heartfelt.

He talked about the worry he faced as his son went into open-heart surgery on his second day of life and the incredible care that he and his family received from Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles. He went on to note that money should not be the single deciding factor of whether or not a family can save their child.

Kimmel broke down in tears in various moments throughout the monologue and, though he cracked a few jokes here and there, it was a very genuine and raw 13-minute segment.

It was sweet to see him so passionate and in love with his new son – since we are so used to him being funny and silly, especially with his Halloween candy pranks on kids and other meltdown-causing mini-series. It was an awesome dad moment.

4. Mario Lopez

Since the days of Saved by the Bell, Lopez has stolen the hearts of women around the nation with his baby face, hot body and show-host charm. And, since becoming a dad, he absolutely loves spending time with his kids, Gia and Dominic.

“The hardest part of my new life as a dad is leaving for work in the morning,” he said. “These kids have totally changed my life. They are simply fantastic!”

In February, he took his daughter, Gia, to a daddy-daughter dance and the two went crazy on the dance floor, dancing to the “Cha-Cha Slide” and discoing all night long.

Needless to say, Lopez is a super sweet dad and is very committed to his family, even with his extra-busy schedule.

5. Will Smith

While Will and Jada Pinkett Smith’s parenting styles have been questioned and criticized over the years, Trey (Will Smith’s son from previous marriage to Sheree Zampino), Jaden and Willow are some of the happiest celebrity kids we know – despite Willow’s reveal that she once self-harmed.

Smith has been quoted many times stating that he pretty much gives his kids free reign – they do not get punished, they are not told what to do and they have total freedom to express their creativity.

“Because (Jada and I are) both artists, we decided a long time ago that it’s sort of better to flow with what people are naturally more than what our egos need them to be,” Smith told Ellen Degeneres in 2015. “So we really just try to find the things that they’re good at and support those things rather than forcing them.”

Some view Smith’s parenting style as unorthodox and simply wrong, but if he, his wife and his kids are happy, then he must be doing something right.

6. Barack Obama

From fighting for women’s rights as president to being the first president in history to declare himself a feminist, Obama is arguably a husband and father that all men should strive to be like.

Regardless of your political affiliation, it’s hard to deny that Obama is an awesome dad. Even as President of the United States, Obama still made time for Sasha’s tennis matches and Malia’s dance recitals.

“As fathers, we need to be involved in our children’s lives not just when it’s convenient or easy, and not just when they’re doing well – but when it’s difficult and thankless, and they’re struggling,” he said in 2011. “That is when they need us most.”

Some people look up to Obama for his politics and historic role as our first black president, but his skills as a dad are just as important and inspiring.

7. Neil Patrick Harris (and David Burtka)

While Harris plays an incredible ladies man on How I Met Your Mother, his real life is much different as a gay father and husband.

He and David Burtka used a surrogate to have twins, which were each biologically one of theirs. Harris and Burtka expressed their difficulty deciding whether to adopt, use a surrogate or foster children.

“We really, really wanted kids. We really had thought it through financially, emotionally, relationship-wise,” said Harris during an interview with Oprah. “We didn’t just accidentally get pregnant and decide that now we need to make this work. These kids came into our world with nothing but love.”

Harper and Gideon Burtka-Harris turn 10 this October and are lucky to have not one but two totally awesome dads.

8. Chris Hemsworth

My personal favorite of the bunch. When Hemsworth is not saving the nine realms of the galaxy as Thor, he’s being a superhero to his kids.

Shortly after his twin sons were born, Hemsworth was on The Ellen Degeneres Show, where he described a conversation that he and his daughter, India, had.

India said she wanted “one of those things the boys have in between their legs.” Hemsworth, trying to be an informative dad, said that girls have breasts, and India said she didn’t want breasts. Hemsworth, in all of his dad-ly charm, said, “You can be whatever you want to be,” to which India replied, “Thanks, dad!”

Overall, Hemsworth loves being a dad. He often gushes about his kids on social media and talk shows.

Prior to the birth of his sons, Hemsworth said, in reference to being a parent, “It’s the greatest thing I’ve ever been a part of. When I am at work, she’s what I’m thinking about, and when I’m not at work, she’s who I’m hanging out with.”

Aww, what a sweetheart.

9. George Clooney

Oscar-winning actor George Clooney was the quintessential bachelor. Back in 2014, he even told Esquire, “I was married in 1989. I wasn’t very good at it. I was quoted as saying I’ll never get married again pretty much right after I got divorced and then I’ve never talked about it since.” But his stance on marriage changed when he met attorney and activist Amal Alamuddin (now Clooney – who is among our fave celeb moms).

The couple tied the knot in September 2014, and while their marriage shocked many of us, their pregnancy announcement surprised us even more. Today, they are parents to 2-year-old twins, Ella and Alexander. Of the name choices, Clooney said, “we just didn’t want to have really dumb names.” Props to the couple for keeping it traditional with the names!

The couple is adamant about keeping their kids out of the spotlight, which is something we can all respect.

10. Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson

Once a WWF fighter, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has made it big in the movie industry – most famous for his appearance in the Fast & the Furious franchise.

But there’s more to this muscle man than meets in the eye. He’s actually quite a softy – and it’s evident by the joy he expresses over fatherhood. He’s dad to three daughters: Simone, Jasmine and Tiana (pictured here with her daddy enjoying some skin-to-skin contact).

“Tiana Gia – like I did when your two older sisters Simone Alexandra and Jasmine Lia were born, you have my word, I’ll love, protect, guide and make ya laugh for the rest of my life,” dad wrote on his Instagram pic with his new baby girl.

Aww!

11. Jensen Ackles

When this star of the long-running hit CW show, Supernatural, isn’t fighting demons and monsters he’s the goofy father of three kids: JJ (7) and twins Zeppelin and Arrow (4).

Apart from being a total badass and buff heartthrob, Ackles has the cutest sense of humor, announcing the pregnancy of his twins on Instagram with the caption “Yep! Doublemint here we come!” and then their birth with a picture of Dr. Seuss’ Thing One and Thing Two from The Cat in the Hat.

Oh, and did we mention that he totally dotes on his wife and kids? He spent 12 years in the friendzone before winning the affection of his best friend and true love, Danneel Harris, and his first Instagram post? A selfie with JJ.

12. Prince Harry

Ok. This one is a given. Being the wife of British royal, Prince Harry, would make you a literal princess, and what lady wouldn’t want to rock both the title and the tiara that comes with it?

When he and his wife, Meghan Markle, welcomed their son Archie to the world, his reaction to fatherhood was just about the most adorable thing that we’ve ever seen.

In fact, more than one report has shown that Prince Harry absolutely adores being a father. In fact, he’s been quoted as saying “…this little thing is absolutely to die for, and I’m just over the moon,” and has even been spotted wearing a jacket that reads “I am daddy.”

We’re not saying that every other dad in the world isn’t just as excited when they meet their baby for the first time, but we certainly are impressed by his level of dedication and love toward his new found roll. After all, raising a baby is tough. We don’t even want to imagine what raising a royal baby under the scrutiny of the world is like.
